How to care for your dress

After wearing a dress, you often find that dirt and stains have adhered to the dress and
want to wash it clean and store it before the next wear.

Of course, it is best to store the dress neatly in the closet after sending it to the cleaners, but since this is both time-consuming and expensive, many people would like to wash it quickly at
    home.

    In this case,
・I want to remove a little dirt or stain!
I want to wash my dress easily at home!
We will introduce how to wash and store your dress for those who want to wash and store your dress easily at home.

    4 Steps for Home Care

    Preparation before laundering

Most dresses from DRESCCO have corsages, pearl bijoux and other decorations, and lace strings for lace-ups. Before washing, be sure to remove these corsages and other decorations to prevent scratches on the dress.

    Washing Method

Basically, we do not recommend washing DRESCCO dresses in a washing machine. Because of the high quality fabrics used, such as soft organza and silk satin, as well as their extremely delicate construction, there is a concern that the fabric may be damaged or lose its shape. We recommend that you hand-wash the dress carefully and hang it in the shade to dry.

    1. Check for dirt, stains, etc.

If there are stains or spots from food spills, wipe off the stains with a wet towel or cloth beforehand, or rinse the stains with water.

    Dissolve detergent in warm water.

Prepare warm water in a wash tub and dissolve the detergent.
Please note that hot water is not recommended.
We recommend using a neutral detergent for fashionable clothes.
(Follow the instructions for the amount of detergent.)

    3. Push washing.

Dip the dress into the washing liquid and gently push-wash. For stained areas, apply detergent directly to the stained area and gently pick up and wash. Be careful not to scrub too hard, as this will damage the fabric.

    4. Rinse

Rinse the dress 2~3 times with warm water. Gently press or shake the dress to remove detergent.

    5. Dry in shade.

After gently draining the dress with your hands, place it between soft towels to absorb more moisture. After some of the moisture is removed, shape the dress and hang it in the shade.

    Ironing tips

If wrinkles form after washing, iron them.
We recommend avoiding high temperatures and doing it as quickly as possible after applying a cloth.

Also, be careful about using a steam iron, which applies steam to the fabric of the dress, as water droplets may stain the area where they fall.
Basically, we recommend ironing with a dry iron, not a steam iron.

    Storage method

After washing the dress, I need to store it neatly until the next time it is worn. Since these are very delicate garments, there are a few things to keep in mind when storing them.

    Mold and Stain Prevention

After washing and placing the garment in the closet, avoid leaving it in the closet until the next time it is worn. Moisture can build up and cause mold to form, so be sure to dry them regularly in an airy, shady place. It is also recommended to keep them covered with a breathable non-woven type cover instead of vinyl, which has poor air permeability.

Wrinkle and loss of shape prevention

Store them in a closet with as much room as possible, as storing them in a closet with no space between them will cause wrinkles.
If possible, use cloth hangers to avoid leaving hanger marks.

    Insect Control

Use mothballs and dehumidifiers to keep your closet clean.
If the closet will be stored for an extended period of time, it is recommended that the mothballs and dehumidifiers be replaced on a regular basis.
